The shaft is a bit snug, but fits my slim calves fine, even with dress knee socks. I ordered 8W, but felt more like an 8M. The heel has slight slippage. The only flaw is the very tight toe area, which is too narrow for a wide boot. My toes hurt after only a few minutes wear. Unfortunately, I must look for another pair of boots.
